I’ve been reading a really inspiring book this week – Wild by Cheryl Strayed, which I can highly recommend. She talks of her incredible – literally – experience hiking the Pacific Coast Trail on her own, a trail that runs from Mexico to Canada all through the Western United States.

It was inspiring because it reminded me of how much I want to backpack across Australia and end up lost, reborn, strayed. Perhaps not alone, but certainly with no one other than my husband. It reminded me of how strong this pull from the other side of the world had been these past couple of years, of how much I yearned for this beautiful and practically unattainable continent, so far out of reach, so desperately out of sight.
