Dear God,

     I want to go ahead and talk about Sophie.  It's still so painful, but I need to.  Just because Lee and I, even Carl, have Sable to love, that doesn’t mean we’ve forgotten Soph or replaced her.

     She was unique, more human than dog.  I guess Carl and I raised her that way.  She was an Ibizan hound.  Her breed came from Egypt, and was the dog that sat on the sarcophagi with their ears perked up.  Well, for one thing, both her ears never perked up.  One always lay down.  That was so cute enough.  She was mostly off white with brown patches, and a pink color inside her mouth with black spots.  I loved it when she yawned, because I got to see such interesting coloring.  At her heaviest...
