Dear God,

     I am such an Israelite.  In the Bible, the Israelites were loved by God more than any other, His chosen people, yet they only loved Him and paid attention to Him when they got screwed or needed Him for something, in other words, in their desperate hours.  The rest of the time, they forgot about Him.  I’m like that.  Have been for years.  I just can’t seem to keep the commitment.  I do good for a few days, and I’m all gung-ho and all, and then things begin to happen that take that time, and then I’ve derailed and it all goes away, and I’ve left God completely behind and He’s not #1 anymore.  Then, I feel bad, but don’t know how to fix it, because I think God is mad at me and won’t have anything to do...
