Impostor syndrome is a concept describing individuals who are marked by an inability to internalize their accomplishments and a persistent fear of being exposed as a "fraud." Despite external evidence of their competence, those exhibiting the syndrome remain convinced that they are frauds and do not deserve the success they have achieved. Recently, a 'friend' on one of my many social media platforms posted that she had, among a wide variety of other complaints, imposter syndrome. I wasn't sure what that was, so I looked it up, and found the above definition.
