Valentine’s Day is nearly upon us again, and even though I am a fabulous romance author, I have to admit, it’s not my favorite holiday. Enforced romance in the middle of winter has never turned me on.

It’s particularly cold today, so I thought I might take this opportunity to tell you all about one the worst dates I have ever been on. It’s a public service really. I guarantee you’ll feel better about your love life once it’s done.

As you know, I used to bartend on Bourbon Street in New Orleans. All kinds of people come to New Orleans from all over the world, and they all eventually end up on Bourbon Street. I’ve met crazy people and wonderful people, drunks and geniuses and celebrities. I’ve overheard some of the most random and insane conversations imaginable...
