‘So did I, Philbs! It didn’t look good at all.’ Riddles and Philbey looked across from their vantage point on the settee. Georgie Ellis took notes; Donald May ruffled his hair.
‘You have no idea who your captor was, Mr.Riddles?’
‘Call me Harry, Detective Constable. Everyone does. Unless you are a close friend, in which case it’s Hal.’
