Author Bio For Agnes Card:

A writer from Ireland, growing up in the tortuous 1970s and launching into the world in the 80s only to find the past following her like a clinging shadow, great big lummox of a thing, always hanging about, trying desperately to shake it off but rarely succeeding, finally coming to the realisation that it's better to face the idiot than try to push it away, it's too persistent and insistent, hanging onto her like that.  Finally, Agnes settles down to have a conversation with her shadow, and come to terms, some sort of negotiation is needed.  This writing of hers is an attempt to reconcile two halves, male, female, shadow and source, the transient and intransient self, the material and the non-visible, spiritual and gross, bitch and bastard, nice and nasty.  It won't all be tears, there'll be the comedy too, and some tenderness in amongst the harsh realities.   Do you want the bare facts?  Agnes has been writing since the grave, she says that because birth is just the second phase in her life, it all started in the grave.  Anyway, here she is, in this world, living in a Western Europe land and avoiding politics like the plague.  There was an old saying in the feminist era, politics is personal, or personal is political, or something vaguely similar, a sentiment Agnes agrees with, and that is the most she can say right now about herself.
