I touched one of them.

They are bolder now. Or rather, the presence of murder and death makes them stronger, more able to touch the physical world. The deaths of Nina and the medium have allowed them to come closer to me. If someone else died, they could come into the house…

The contact with one of them has answered so much. I could feel them pressing close to the walls outside. They whispered softly, so softly… it was beautiful. I saw one of their hands reach up outside one of my windows. It was like a dark cloud drifting by. I opened the window and reached out before I could think about what I was doing.

Our fingers brushed against each other. There was a burst of illumination, and I realized what the few lights I had on in the house look like to the visitors&rs...
