         It was just me now. Alone again. The captain's last words echoed in the emptiness of my head. After rummaging through the demolished classroom, I found myself back by the half-broken elephant glass bubble through which I entered. I found nothing of any use. All I had were the suits in my backpack and the precious transmission device.  

I went over my options. I could use my thrusters and beeline for the island. I could scour the ruins for parts to build a new raft. Or I could do any combination of the first two options… But head straight for the sandbar, assuming it did in fact stretch on, and make the trek on my own.

The screen on my wrist indicated that my thrusters were at 88%, and my oxygen was currently sitting at 91%. I stepped into...
