>The jagged tip of the weapon threatened her startled face from inches away.

Her eyes were like those of an animal that spotted a hunter. Wide, frozen. I quickly retracted the sharp stick from her face. She was white as a sheet.
         “Holy… Don’t do that,” I said, dumping out a big breath.
         “I was about to say the same to you,” she said, regaining the color in her face.

         “What are you doing here?”

         “Couldn’t sleep,” she said. “You?”
