“I need sustenance,” Bailey said.

“It’s only eleven.”

“I’m hungry,” she said. “I didn’t eat breakfast.”

Hugo sighed. When Bailey’s blood sugar was low, she got cranky. He knew he might as well surrender to the inevitable.
