“For some of us, 9/11 is still very fresh in our souls.  Time has gone on for the world, but some of us can’t get past it.  The dead victims are somewhat remembered, once a year, but we’re victims, too.  We had loved ones taken from us, suddenly and senselessly, and that leaves a huge hole in someone.  When the cameras went away, we were forgotten, like most people are when the sensation of the story has died down, and we somehow had to put our shattered lives back together.  Some did, some didn’t.  Some can’t.  We’re not in the news anymore, except for one day out of the year, and that’s for the event, not for us who were left behind.”

     I was guilty of it, of just remembering the Towers...
