It was raining the day they put her mom in the ground. Now, she needed to get on with her life. Her mom had disrupted most of it already, so now, she could finally concentrate on her own life, without that constant burden of her mother. As she stood at the freshly dug grave, her emotions were everywhere. This was her mom, and she loved her, but now, with her mom gone, she was free. And freedom was sweet. She could go through the last of her mother’s stuff this weekend, make several more trips to the charity shop on Kensington Church Street, to drop stuff off, put the house up for sale, and get on back to her life in the States.
