“Okay.”

     “How did Fannie get from Southampton to here in Kansas City, Kansas?”

     “Some of our family had already come here, and settled here, in Kansas City.”

     “How?  Why?”

     “Bad memories, history.  When Fannie got so sick with the cancer, her one sister, who died unmarried, and with no children, told her she could come here and stay until the cancer took her.  Fannie lived three more months after she got here.  In fact, this is the house she died in, and she’s buried about a mile down the road.”
