I still remember some of the things that were invented and/or were popular during my formative years. Things like floppy disks, word processing, Post-It Notes, Rubik’s Cube, Sony Walkman, and Atari, to name a few.
The 1970’s brought the end of The Beatles and the deaths of Elvis, Janis Joplin, and Jimi Hendrix. It also saw the Concorde’s first flight from London to New York (in 3.5 hours), and the first female Prime Minister (Margaret Thatcher).
When I began driving, gasoline cost $.89 a gallon, and stations provided full-service, including filling your gas tank, washing your windows, and checking your oil.
