CHANNILLO
Middler's Pride
By Jean Lee

Series Description:

After a humiliating dinner with a suitor, Meredydd sees only a dull life ahead, destined to crush her heroic spirit--that is, until she's accepted into the Shield Maidens. Surely nothing but glory and adventure await, right? And they do...if Mer can first overcome the most dangerous enemy of all: herself.

Middler's Pride is a labor of love inspired by my all-time favorite author, Diana Wynne Jones. Her tenacious young heroes, hilarious dialogue, and fascinating worlds have always been a source of joy as a reader.

Two years ago, fellow fantasy writer Michael Dellert challenged me to write some epic fantasy with a young heroine. What began as a little fanfic set in his Matter of Manred universe grew into Middler's Pride set in its very own land, Idana, named for, of course, Diana Wynne Jones.

Would you like to meet Meredydd before her adventures begin? Come share my dialogue with her on Wattpad.

Thank you so much for selecting this story. I hope you enjoy meeting Mer, her fellow Shield Maiden recruits, and all those tangled up in Mer's quest to be a legend.

Cheers

Author Bio For Jean Lee:

I am a mother with three young children. Ever sit down to write only to discover your twin sons trying to climb the chimney? Yeah, motherhood's an adventure here.

I am a victim of sexual abuse. This shard of my past continues to cut into my present, both my life and my writing.

I am a student of books. Every story is a lesson learned in what strengthens fiction...or weakens it.

I am a hunter for inspiration. I harvest music that helps me envision my stories, and imagery to give my stories place.

I am a writer of fantasy fiction for the young: adventures for the child, life-mucking-outing for the young adult. My debut novel, Fallen Princeborn: Stolen, hits bookshelves in early 2019.
