Lying flat on her back, she opened her eyes and stared up at the ceiling. She felt a wave of numbness overtake her. Realizing she was covered in sweat, no doubt from the nightly adventures her subconscious had taken as she slept, she knew she needed to shower. Jack was at work now and therefore had left the bathroom vacant.
The last time I took a shower something happened. But what? I can’t remember anything except waking up.
As she started to sit up her brain became more active and alert. Her thoughts tried pulling strings that would normally cause an anxiety attack, but she was unresponsive and decided to focus on her breathing for a moment.
Inhale for four counts…hold for seven counts…exhale for eight counts.
