Silent and unnerved, Townsend and Kendall watch the flurry of activity going on around them. “I’d really hoped that I would see something here to offer a glimmer of reprieve. I want to report to the Sovereign a surprisingly positive outlook for this Denathynol venture. Look how hard these people are working. They have minds and bodies that are actually capable of extraordinary things. I never would have fathomed that all of this could be possible for them. They deserve better,” laments Townsend.

Glaring to his left, Kendall asks, “Becoming sympathetic, are you?”

“Hardly,” retorts Townsend sharply, “However, I do pride myself on being ever the dreamer and an optimist.”

“What do you wish to do next?” asks Kendall meekly.
