Lexi was determined to finally have a church wedding in Bardstown. Almost exactly one year after Cooper died, she and Jesse met with Preacher Dunham. He gave Lexi a brief lecture on the way she handled her previous marriages.

Being chastised at her age put her in a foul mood. “I’d just given my first husband, Luke, the good news that he was going to be a father when he was murdered. Cooper insisted on moving into my house to protect me and my unborn child, and I swear before God that he never touched me until we were husband and wife. My second marriage, which no one even knows about, was to an evil man named Damon Maddox. He kidnapped me right after the birth of my son and threatened me and my family, so I had to marry him.
