Luke awoke early the next morning with a determination to finish his duties early, so he could work on repairing the worthless piece of furniture before it was needed that night. He never intended to miss an opportunity for his new favorite activity. His wife did not reject his nightly advances so far.

Heath happened to walk by Lexi’s room when he was trying to figure out what to do. His father-in-law’s voice startled him. “Need some help?”

Luke was embarrassed, but his situation was obvious. “I need to fix this bed.”

Heath came closer to examine the problem. “Looks like you need some new slats. I was heading into town today anyway. I’ll pick up some boards, and we can get to work on this chore when I get back.”
