This beast comes to us from France and Spain, with both countries fighting over where this powerful creature used to live. In Spain, she’s known as the Peluda (the hairy one), while the French called her the Velue (the shaggy one). Yet, whatever her name, she was a gigantic fire-breath dragon with its back covered in sharp porcupine-like quills.
The majority of folktales indicate that this draconic beast lived in the northwest of France, along the banks of the Huisne River, near the town of La Ferté-Bernard.
