“But I have milk and candy. Sweet delicious candy.” The velvety voice sounded near.

“Are you the Bogeyman?” The child stepped closer to the fence.

“I am not,” said the voice, now so close, the boy saw a figure standing near the trees.

The boy was hungry, and it’d been so long since he had candy.

He jumped the fence.

“But you said you were not the Bogeyman.”
