Cruel are the hungers of the world, but none as cruel as the hunger of the heart.

A starving heart is vicious, as it devours everything around with a fiery anger that burns guilty and innocent alike. This hunger demands revenge and satisfaction, but it can never be satiated, for a hungry heart is broken, so all it consumes soon leaks and seeps into nothing.

Also known as The Hunger Gods, the Hidarugami are spirits of people who starved to death in the mountains. And because they died alone there's no marker for their grave and no ceremony, so their spirits become evil and seek to take revenge on hikers.
