Moving a bit slower today. Yesterday was… intense. Just to stand my ground and hold my peace in the middle of animosity, antagonism, and an entire battalion of negativity and distrust:  an exhausting exercise on one level, yet eye-opening on another. In the short-term it does seem easier to try to compensate for other people’s discomfort - to fix, cajole, and otherwise shoulder the emotional burden of their action, or inaction - but in the long run, that same compensation tactic would destroy my soul.


The motivation behind such behavior - the fixing of what others are unwilling to face - is ultimately rooted in trying to make things easier for myself. It’s hard to feel another person’s pain and unhappiness, and it’s even harder to resist the urge to f...
