“But don’t we all,” Lane smiled, and glanced down at her hands, studying her manicure. “Anyway, if we get this tidied up now – I’ll present it maybe today or tomorrow – you could be in the new place within a week.”

Keira bent back down over the pages, and continued writing. Tad continued to shift in the chair beside her, swinging his legs back and forth.

Lane picked up her phone, rapidly thumbing through messages, and then stood up. “You know what – I gotta run. I’ll give the offer a quick read over, but I’m sure everything’s fine.”

Keira hastily scrawled her name in a final signature box. “You’re sure? I could just take it back with me, maybe email you a copy.”
