Castaway on an island

long forgotten by time

loneliness and despair

for countless years are mine

tired, hungry, and desperate

running out of might

thus my last ditch effort

before I quit the fight

this message in a bottle

I cast it out to sea

and pray the current brings it

to someone who’ll rescue me

who on earth will find it

who’ll be on the other side

won’t you be my savior

and rush in with the tide
