Once there was a castle

built with skill and care

made of sand and water

and a touch of salt sea air

pure white grains of sand

unadulterated by time

with a moat for privacy

a home both yours and mine

fortified with memories

filled with love and life

likewise hope and dreams

of being man and wife

then the tide came in

a wave crashed on the shore

with one strike it all tumbled down

now you and I no more
