“Everyone out, now!” Anders ordered. He positioned himself between the woman and his now hustling crew. They fled into the corridor outside sickbay while Anders stood guard at the door close enough for escape at the first sign of attack. He remained still, tense, ready to fight or flee, and observed the woman, who hadn’t moved at all since waking up. She lay there, staring at him with curious eyes, and he saw no threats in her behavior.
But this woman had been breathing, living, in the vacuum of space. Anders couldn’t classify her as anything but dangerous.
