CHAPTER 10: AH AND EE (AND THE TRAGIC CONVERTIBLE ACCIDENT THAT TOOK THEIR LIVES)
Ah and Ee had to die when they drove their red convertible into the lake near the big red-and-white-striped beach umbrellas at Plantation Shores. They just had to. After all, I was starting first grade that fall, and you simply don’t start school with imaginary friends. So, with great reluctance on the part of both of my younger sisters, we had to part ways with Ah and Ee. I’m not sure why it had to be in such tragic fashion (finality, a threshold crossed, perhaps?); I only know that it had to happen.
