CHAPTER 9: HOW GRANNY CAME TO BE CALLED GRANNY

Granny was the spunkiest of all my grandparents. My father’s mother, she was considerably younger than all of my other grandparents, about a decade-and-a-half younger than Pop, and she could certainly relate to her grandchildren. Granny was about five feet tall (and that’s generous) and couldn’t have possibly weighed in at much more than a hundred pounds, if even that much. She wore glasses and wore her white hair short, sometimes curly and sometimes straight. Think a slightly softer version of Granny from The Beverly Hillbillies. And, oh, was our Granny fun!
