Ty had never been more grateful for having fallen asleep fully clothed. He opened the creaking door which woke Jason up enough for him to say, “What?” sounding like he had cotton balls stuffed inside his cheeks. He never opened his eyes and fell straight back to sleep before Ty could answer.

He tiptoed down the brown, shaggy rug even though he didn’t need to. He walked by three wooden doors that were all shut. One was missing its doorknob and someone had apparently punched a hole in next one. Ty didn’t even try to peek inside. He had no desire to see what was behind that door and he didn’t want whoever was behind that door to see him. The third was surprisingly intact. Ty rushed by anyway. He was pretty sure he was going to soil himself at any minute.
