Anna continued to be nice. She would stay and eat with Jaymi for breakfast and dinner all week and Jaymi felt she had gotten to know her pretty, little chef really well by Thursday night. It was still odd having someone around just to cook for her, but she appreciated her mother’s thoughtfulness all the same. She liked having the company. It took the sting out of missing Dina, and even Poppy, just a tiny bit. She learned that Anna was dating a really nice guy named Ben and it wasn’t hard to tell that she was madly in love with him. Her light brown, almost yellow, eyes got bigger when she spoke about Ben. Shinier somehow, more fluid, and would dim back down when the topic changed.
