The moment Rory stepped outside and into the already brisk fall weather, she saw Jaymi leaning against the huge columns that held up the ancient and intriguing structure that was New Hope High School with her arms across her chest.

Rory couldn’t help but notice that all the kids passing Jaymi didn’t greet her in any way, even though they were high-fiving, fist-bumping and hugging each other right next to her. Rory realized that the Superintendent’s letter may have worked too well, but selfishly thanked him.
