Samantha’s childhood had been awful to say the least. She was found at the age of five, in a busy library in downtown Minneapolis completely alone, by a volunteer at closing time. She had on a women’s extra small shirt, which was a huge dress on little Samantha, with yellow armpits and holes running up and down the seams. Beneath it all she wore were soiled cotton underwear. The little girl only knew was that her name was Samantha and that her mother left her there. She remembered that her mother had blond hair and blue eyes and she didn’t know her daddy. And she knew that she was hungry. Jaymi’s heart broke throughout the telling of her mother’s life story, but needed her to continue.
