Curtis woke up that morning feeling tired and sour. Despite having gotten eight hours of sleep, it was a fitful, uncomfortable kind of sleep. He only slightly remembered his dreams, but only because he had woken up several times in between. He dreamt that Seth was standing at the foot of Curtis’s bed, crying and staring at him. Curtis felt trapped by Seth’s sadness and remembered feeling like he couldn’t speak.
When he was conscious, he missed Seth. Every single time he woke up, he was forced to think about Seth. Curtis thought about how he was probably in his immaculate room, up all night playing his dumb video games, refusing to come out and see him or anyone else for that matter.
Seth had problems, but he was also the most beautiful boy Curtis had...
