Dear Lily,

Well then, this is turning into quite the death bed confession. I’ve already confessed to Father Jennings my sins and he sat there quietly and told me to do one hundred “Our Father’s” and thirty “Hail Mary’s” and I felt the punishment fit the crime. My knees burned and my mouth was dry, but knowing Our Lord and Savior has forgiven me, before I waste away and die in this hard, uncomfortable bed is all that I have left. So on with it I go.
