Dear Lily,

Hope you are well dear. I can continue today. I feel healthy which is nice for a change. This is what came next on the way to Rose's graduation ceremony. 

Out of my peripheral vision I could see Jimmy Connor looking around at the many black families surrounding us, “Hey, some of them are just you’re average Joe’s. I kind of like their suits.” Jimmy, who was graduating also and already donning his black cap and gown, really was a nice boy. Many wanted me to date him.  Meeting Toby two years before changed that. I never really liked Jimmy in that way, but he was still a real quality person.

“Shut your mouth you twit. What did I tell you? Stay away from ‘em.” This from his father, of course....
