Jason was born into a world warmed by light that travels approximately ninety-three million miles in about eight minutes. Although it may occasionally be eclipsed or occluded or even denied for long stretches at the top of the world, it eventually returns as surely as it sets. It's easy to believe there is nothing extraordinary about something as common as light, but photons must traverse a million-year journey before breaking free of the Sun.
