“Of course I’m not the killer,” he snaps.
“Why is this necklace here, then?” I ask again.
“I’ve never seen it before,” Reid insists. He comes closer towards me, and I instinctively back away. I don’t want to be anywhere near him.
“I have to go,” I say.
“We have to talk,” Reid repeats why he texted in the first place.
“No,” I tell him. Thanks to my new meditation practice — watching relaxation videos — I’m calm, even in an increasingly risky situation. “This is getting too close for me to be comfortable.” I back away, doing a double-take when I glimpse the murderous glimmer in his eyes.
Reid’s gone off the rails. Guys don’t like to be told no....
