"Maybe," John smiles. "We're still working on the schedule."

"Do you think you can get vacation time at work?" Mom asks.

"I'll see. It's a very subdued place. I mean, I know libraries are quiet, but my job is very routine so far."

"You'll have to create more awesome new activities to do," Mom says.

"Yes, I agree, things like the self-defense class. And I'm also thinking about doing genealogy research."

Mom and John look at me in surprise.

"It's time, I suppose," Mom finally says.

I nod. "Do you know who my birth father is?"

"We can contact the agency and see if he wants to be identified."
