Justalynn sat on one of the wooden benches outside her cookie dough shop.  It was a brand-new Monday morning with a whole work week ahead, but her head wasn’t into the fresh week.  It was still at the hospital yesterday and what the doctor had told her.  Not just about Bear’s condition, but also about Bear’s family and how divided they were about what to do about his life.  She wiped a tear away knowing she had no say in any medical decisions made.  She was only his intended.  His papa and mama had the say.  If she was married to him already, she would, but since she wasn’t, his mama and daed did.  She wiped another tear away and took a deep breath, leaning her face into the gust of wind that came her direction for just a second....
