The End of the Beginning

Tim and Marcus attended the remainder of the day’s events without seeing Bob or Vladimir Barintov. A knock at the door woke the men up early the following morning.

“Ambassador Brenley requests your presence at breakfast,” the security guard said.

Tim’s eyes opened wide as he jumped out of bed, racing to get dressed; he felt like he was about to go on stage for the performance of his life. With the influx of hotel guests, it took nearly twenty minutes for both he and Marcus to make their way downstairs to the dining room where Bob was waiting for them. The irascible man looked down at his watch and frowned when he spotted the pair of men walking across the room towards him.
