Marcus extended his hand as Tim smiled. The latter stepped forward, embracing his friend in a gesture of brotherly solidarity.
“Marc, I could say the same thing back to you, but it would barely scratch the surface. To say I’ve felt lost over the past few months would be an understatement. When I needed a friend the most, I met you. And for what it’s worth, I wouldn’t have made it this far without you.”
Marcus nodded slowly in agreement.
“Same here, brother—same here.”
A few minutes later, the men met outside in the hallway dressed to the nines, looking like they were guest speakers at the summit. Bob turned the corner, marching towards them like a field general preparing to rally his troops for battle.
