Tim shifted his weight nervously from one foot to the other, waiting for an opening to continue speaking despite not knowing how to proceed; Marcus intervened.

“Sir, we believe that you are the key to preventing the end of the world.”

Tim’s jaw slid open and his mouth widened in a comical expression of shock. Jack, too, seemed stunned by Marcus’ blunt proclamation, but Bob seemed utterly unfazed.

“Is that so?” Bob said, running his hand along the plush bulldog protecting the driver.

“We believe that there is someone who will be at this summit that you’re going to attend, who is bent on starting World War III,” Marcus continued.

Finally, Bob ceased fiddling with the clubs.
