The guard’s face blanched as he turned his eyes away.

“Believe me when I tell you that there are a lot of jobs on the line right now, including mine. And if I lose my pension because some power-hungry little pissant decided that tonight was the night he would grow a pair, you can only imagine the hell that I will rain down upon you on my way out. So if you would kindly head back down to your desk and let these men do their jobs, you’ll be saving us a lot of money and a lot of heartache, friend.”

The guard swallowed audibly...
