Hank joined a gym.  He enlisted Charles’ help in getting his old position back with the middle school.  The charges had been dropped.  His name was cleared.  The time was now over for wallowing in misery and self-pity.  Genny would never take him back in his current state.

In only two months, his life was back on track.  He’d shed the twenty-two pounds that were packed on after college and his football career ended.  After the Robicheaux County Board of Education was threatened with a lawsuit, he was reinstated to his previous duties as a history teacher and assistant football coach.  Genny was still dating Jarrod and living in their home, so he signed a year’s lease on an apartment.  He took the bed out of storage and slept in it alone.
