The following evening, Genny was escorted into the restaurant and shown to her table by the hostess.  Dr. Hayes managed a slight smile and got right to the point.  “Genny, you look lovely tonight.  I didn’t want to waste any of your precious time, so I reserved a room for us.  Go ahead and order yourself a drink, and we’ll have room service bring up our meals after we’ve finished.”

“Done with exactly what, Dr. Hayes?”

“I didn’t think I’d have to spell out our intimate encounter for you, considering your level of intelligence.  You agreed to meet me in a hotel.  I was sure you would perceive my intentions.”

“No.  I’m sorry, but I thought your intentions were to discuss my research.”
