Genny became intimately familiar with Brad and his past while the next couple of months crept by. As she discussed her feelings of bereavement with him, he began to open up to her as well. He entered his first foster home at the age of eight years old. His mother became addicted to drugs and lost her parental rights. His father, who he barely remembered, served in the army and died during the Gulf War when he was only five.
