Parker shrugged. "Some people are just too delicate for roller derby. C'mon. You can watch me be a badass on skates."

Jamie sat on a folding chair near the edge of the rink while Parker went and did her warm up exercises. Ashley, still looking green around the edges, came out and joined her to watch the practice. The girls varied in skill level. Some fell every ten feet while others, like Parker, skated like they were born to it.

Parker seemed to be pushing herself harder than the others did, waving to Jamie before showing off with some stunt. After a few minutes of that, the other girls began to razz Parker and she focused more on the practice.
