Jamie nodded and the two of them stepped away from Parker.

"I don't know if you noticed, but Parker's really fishing for a hug."

"She is?" Jamie asked. Her head suddenly felt light and her she felt her body tense up.

Ashley nodded. "You seem a bit clueless, so I figured I'd let you know just in case."

Ashley walked off towards her locker, leaving Jamie to stare blankly off into nothing. Parker came up and shook Jamie's arm.

"Are you okay?" Parker asked.

"Yeah, I think so." The part of Jamie that hated hugs resisted, but something compelled Jamie to ask, "Did you want a hug?"
